Absolutely a great way to go for breakfast, lunch or a brunch with friends. This recipe features an easy flaky crust, that you can make in minutes. Not only is it cheaper than buying a premade crust, it’s so much better tasting.


 Crust ingredients and directions:

1 cup AP flour

1 tsp salt

1/4 cup ice cold water

1/4 cup olive oil

In a large bowl add flour and salt, mix well. Add water and oil and mix with a fork until ball forms. Gently press dough with your fingers into a 9” baking dish and up the sides of the dish. Be patient and evenly distribute dough. Spread out half the cheese on the crust. That’s it! Super easy and surprisingly yummy.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, diced small
  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage. I really like Jimmy Deans, great flavor!
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • Couple sprigs of fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In large saute pan on med-high heat brown sausage and onion together to build flavor S&P
  3. Add mushroom slices to pan and cook thoroughly until mushrooms lose their water and slightly brown. About 8 minutes
  4. when done set aside
  5. In bowl add eggs, milk and heavy cream and S&P, beat well until combined
  6. Spread layer of cheese on top of crust and evenly distribute sausage mixture
  7. Pour egg mixture into baking pan on top of sausage
  8. Top with cheese and finely chopped chives
  9. Place in oven on baking sheet and cook for 35 minutes
